About Me

Ernesto Cuevas

Ernesto Cuevas is a storyteller, musician, Army veteran, and survivor of a life shaped by abandonment, silence, and sheer willpower. Born in Ohio and left in an abandoned house as an infant, Ernesto entered the world without a name, a voice, or a family. Adopted into a Mexican-American household, he grew up surrounded by love that was often conditional, burdened by unspoken truths and a haunting sense of not belonging. From early childhood, he faced physical and emotional abuse, carried secrets no child should bear, and spent years searching for answers buried deep in silence.
But Ernesto’s story is not just about hardship—it’s about survival, identity, and finding strength through the storm. After serving honorably in the United States Army, including a deployment to Berlin during the Cold War, he returned home carrying more than scars. He carried questions. Who was he? Where did he come from? And why was he left behind?
His relentless pursuit of the truth led him across states and decades, uncovering hidden family, long-lost siblings, and the real story of his beginnings. From hopelessness to healing, from being a nameless boy to reclaiming his voice, Ernesto has lived through it all—and now he’s telling the world.
Today, Ernesto lives with his wife Patricia on a peaceful 60-acre farm in Michael, Illinois. He is the proud father of Joshua, Brandie, Cody, Ziarah, and Axel, and the grandfather to one. When he’s not tending the land, he’s writing, speaking, and recording country music drawn from the same deep well of emotion and truth that defines his writing. His debut memoir, The Boy Named Boy, is a raw, unforgettable account of identity, endurance, and the quiet, relentless search for belonging. He is currently working on his second book and recording his first collection of original songs, which will soon be released across all major streaming platforms.
For those who have ever felt lost, overlooked, or unheard—Ernesto’s story is a testament that your past does not define your future, and your voice matters more than you know.
